We are looking for an experienced multi trades engineer, technician or handyperson to join the team.We are a hybrid of a maintenance and a management service, offering hands-on property management services to landlords in London combined with our in-house maintenance and refurbishment service.If you love problem solving, problem finding, using your trade skills, using your hands and working as a team, then this may be the job for you. Experience of trades, and physical problem solving is important.Requirements;• We are looking for someone with thorough knowledge and practice of building maintenance. Including familiarity with plant of various kinds, basic plumbing, electrics, decorating and carpentry.• We do a lot of trace and access work – identifying and preventing leaks then making good, which involves multiple trades.• We expect excellence and are looking for someone who is bright, capable, willing to learn, can hit the ground running and bring their own experience to the team.• Good reading and writing skill – able to read and understand reports and produce them.• Good observation, diagnosis and analytical skill – you are the eyes and ears of the property management team.• Confidence working remotely and independently.• Good communication skill using modern systems• Full UK driving licence - we have branded work vans that you would need to use. We also have a motorbike if you have a licence.ResponsibilitiesWorking alongside 10 other team members, the candidate will expect to;• Work closely with the tenancy managers and block managers maintaining and inspecting buildings• Follow a diary and attend to maintenance works on the properties we manage using all trade skills at your disposal• Wear branded uniform and drive a branded van, using company equipment• Speak with clients from time to time to explain what may be happening• During inspections, find and diagnose problems and attend to fixes yourself and communicate all back to the team using our systems• Work with senior team members to design solutions to sometimes complex building problems.• Become familiar with building layouts and plant• Give thought and care to the team’s needs and play your part in contributing to the operational development and growth of the company.Future opportunityRoles can be expanded and developed as experience is gained. We can also look at diversifying roles and dual roles depending on the company’s needs. A successful and competent technician can also act as a project manager; planning and designing refurbishments or take on wider responsibility and challenges in other parts of the company.TravelOffice based in Richmond, London.
