About: Veritas are working with a well-established secondary school in Richmond, committed to providing an exceptional education to their students. They are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Design Technician to join their dynamic team.
Job Description:
As a Design Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Design and Technology department. You will work closely with our teaching staff to ensure that students have access to well-maintained equipment and a safe and conducive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing materials and resources for design and technology lessons.
- Maintaining and repairing equipment and machinery.
- Assisting teachers and students during practical lessons.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Managing the design and technology workshop and its inventory.
- Collaborating with teachers to develop innovative teaching materials.
- Supporting students with their projects and coursework.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A background in design and technology or a related field.
- Previous experience working in an educational setting is preferred.
- Experience with Lazer cutting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using design and technology equipment and tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
