About: Veritas are working with a well-established secondary school in Richmond, committed to providing an exceptional education to their students. They are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Design Technician to join their dynamic team.

Job Description:

As a Design Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Design and Technology department. You will work closely with our teaching staff to ensure that students have access to well-maintained equipment and a safe and conducive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing materials and resources for design and technology lessons.
  • Maintaining and repairing equipment and machinery.
  • Assisting teachers and students during practical lessons.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Managing the design and technology workshop and its inventory.
  • Collaborating with teachers to develop innovative teaching materials.
  • Supporting students with their projects and coursework.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A background in design and technology or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Experience with Lazer cutting
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using design and technology equipment and tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
