Orka Financial is working with a growing multi national company based near Northwood to recruit a Financial Controller who will work closely with the Senior Leadership team, helping the company achieve its next set of impressive growth targets. In recent years the company has expanded rapidly which has created an opportunity for an experienced, qualified finance candidate to come in and take ownership of the finance function. Working closely with the Commercial Director this role will offer a great blend of commercial involvement and core finance work. The Financial Controller will develop and shape the finance team whilst contributing to the overall targets of the business.

The Financial Controller for the UK and Europe will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities within the UK and Europe regions (covering 4 legal entities and multiple currency). This role requires a dynamic and experienced finance professional with a hands-on approach, a background in international financial management.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the UK and Europe regions.• Provide insightful commentary on financial performance, variances, and trends.• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.• Ensure long term projects are accounted for correctly. • Management of valuations and retentions.• Lead the annual budgeting process for UK and Europe working closely with departmental heads to establish financial goals and targets.• Develop accurate and reliable forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.• Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the availability of funds for operational requirements and investments.• Implement effective treasury and working capital management strategies.• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.• Co- ordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements.• Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other relevant taxes.• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the Europe and UK regions.• Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Profile:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified • 5 years of experience in finance and accounting roles, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory position.• Extensive knowledge of European and UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.• Knowledge of group accounting. • Proven experience in managing cross-border financial operations and multi-currency environments.• Strong proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., Sage ERP, Excel, financial modelling tools).• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

Salary:

£72,000 - £80,000 + benefits
