We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our team and assist in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for our events. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen operations, and ensure that every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with a strong culinary background, leadership capabilities, and a love for working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development, ensuring high-quality standards for all events.
- Oversee and manage kitchen staff during events and prep days, ensuring efficiency and organisation.
- Ensure food preparation and presentation align with company standards and client specifications.
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, stock rotation, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
- Assist in coordinating the timely delivery of food service to events, ensuring smooth operations during the event.
- Monitor food costs and waste to help achieve budgetary targets.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen at all times, adhering to all food safety protocols.
- Step into the Head Chef's role in their absence, ensuring kitchen operations continue smoothly.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role, preferably in event catering or hospitality.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety, kitchen operations, and industry best practices.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A creative approach to menu planning and food presentation.

Core hours 8.00am 4.00pm including a Saturday OR Sunday. 35 hour week with the option of overtime.
Salary: Up to £38,000 depending on experience.
