Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer for a position that offers flexibility as either a permanent or contract role. This opportunity includes the option for hybrid working arrangements, allowing for a balance between remote and office-based work.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and review of 3D civil and structural engineering models.
  • Oversee the production and review of cost-effective civil layouts and structural general arrangement drawings, ensuring they meet specifications and are safe for construction, maintenance, commissioning, and demolition.
  • Adhere to and improve discipline-specific procedures and processes.
  • Plan resources and manage project delivery within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Coordinate design efforts with other disciplines, utilizing both internal and external resources effectively.
  • Maintain comprehensive files and records throughout project lifecycles.
  • Supervise and support civil design staff, contributing to their professional development.
  • Ensure designs consider environmental and health and safety requirements.
  • Continuously seek to improve processes and procedures.

About You:

  • Essential:
    • Extensive experience in civil engineering design, particularly within the water industry, ensuring constructible standards.
    • Membership in a professional institution, either Chartered or approaching Chartered status.
    • Strong ability to rationalize designs and develop efficient plant layouts.
  • Preferred:
    • Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • At a minimum, an HND in Civil Engineering.
