General OPERATOR / MACHINIST – FULL TIME

Gotpeople are working with a successful and expanding Sub-Contract engineering company in Watford/Rickmansworth area in Hertfordshire, supplying to a wide range of industries including Aerospace, Defence, Medical, Food, Scientific and Motorsport along with many others.

We are seeking a General Machinist to join our busy and expanding Production team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include:

  • Operating Mazak CNC Turning & Milling machines.
  • Deburring / finishing components following machining operations using hand tools and other finishing tools/machinery.
  • Other Production related duties as required (Training will be provided where needed)

Essential experience / Skills:

  • Previous manufacturing experience (ideally within a CNC environment environment).
  • Experience of working with machinery, measuring equipment and hand tools including Micrometers, Vernier calipers, gauges, files / deburring tools etc.
  • Good standard of Literacy and numeracy.
  • An understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work to a consistently high standard whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to use initiative when working.
  • Flexibility to carry out other tasks when requested by Managers or Team Leaders.

Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm Friday 7:30am to 1:00pm. Due to the location and start times applicants need to live local or have own transport.

Hourly rate depending on experience.
