Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading modular building specialist who is seeking a Design Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary design team, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within scope, budget, and timeline. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of modern construction.
The Role of the Design Manager:
- Oversee and lead a team of designers, ensuring efficient project delivery.
- Manage the pre-construction design process, solving technical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and industry standards.
- Act as Principal Designer under CDM regulations to promote safety.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
The Design Manager will bring:
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Experience in managing technical teams and delivering design solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of modern methods of construction (MMC) and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Understanding of fire strategy, structural performance, energy efficiency, and M&E coordination.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree/HNC/HND in a relevant field (e.g., Architecture, Engineering, Construction).
- Experience managing design teams in construction, modular, or steel-framed buildings.
- Knowledge of BREEAM, DREAM, NHBC, and BOPAS is a plus.
- Chartered Status (RIBA, MEng, RICS) – desirable but not essential.

Hours:
Mon - Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm.
Fridays working from home - 8.30am – 1.00pm
