Our client, a well-established law firm, is recruiting a Legal Secretary to join their friendly team.

The ideal candidate will have previous secretarial experience, ideally within a law firm. Applications from candidates with secretarial experience in other sectors are also welcome. You will be supporting Fee Earners, dealing with enquiries & managing appointments.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Acting as the first point of contact for the department
  • Dealing with emails, phone calls, enquiries and requests.
  • Organising and maintaining diaries, arranging appointments.
  • Writing letters on behalf of the Fee Earners.
  • Organising and prepping Fee Earners for any meetings.
  • Producing any documents, reports, correspondence etc. as required
  • Producing invoices and reporting billed figures to the Fee Earners
  • Ensuring client files are kept up to date
  • Assistance / cover for other secretaries, as required

The ideal candidate:

  • IT literate, with the ability to pick up new systems and processes.
  • Friendly and approachable
  • A team player, who enjoys helping and supporting others
  • Able to remain calm, even under pressure
  • Takes pride and responsibility in their work
  • Maintains appropriate client contact
  • Detail focused, methodical, organised and systematic
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to prioritise workload
  • Excellent customer service

Required Experience:

  • Ideally you will have experience of working in a legal environment
  • Minimum GCSE qualifications or equivalent
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Fast accurate typing
