SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, Term-Time Only)

Are you passionate about helping young people unlock their potential? We're looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in the lovely town of Ringwood.

Position: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Ringwood, DorsetHourly Rate: £11.72 - £12.78Annual Salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 (Term-Time Only)Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, term-time only

About the Role:

You'll be supporting students aged 11-16 with special educational needs, including Autism. Working closely with our expert teaching staff, you'll assist in the classroom and participate in outdoor activities like Bushcraft and life skills, playing a key role in the academic and personal development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalised support, ensuring students' safety and well-being.
Help students achieve goals outlined in their Education and Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
Implement positive behaviour management techniques tailored to individual needs.
Maintain detailed records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety matters.
Encourage teamwork and foster positive social interactions among students.

What We're Looking For:

Be passionate about working with young people and building trust-based relationships.
Show patience and skill in managing challenging behaviours.
Bring creativity and positivity to problem-solving.
Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
Possess basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) are preferred but not essential.
