Capella Professional are delighted to working with a global recognised engineering and manufacturing company on their search for a new Design Engineer. Specialising in providing innovative solutions across various industries, with a strong emphasis on transitional and renewable energy sectors.

The Role.

The Design Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and development of shell & tube heat exchangers and pressure vessels. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, supports manufacturing processes, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, efficient thermal equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design shell & tube heat exchangers and pressure vessels per ASME, TEMA, and PED standards.
  • Perform thermal and mechanical calculations using software like HTRI, Aspen EDR, and PV Elite.
  • Develop technical drawings, 3D models, and engineering specifications.
  • Conduct stress, vibration, and fatigue analysis for structural integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with material selection, welding, and quality requirements.
  • Support fabrication, manufacturing, and troubleshooting design issues.
  • Review and approve technical documents, datasheets, and inspection reports.
  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, and suppliers for successful execution.
  • Assist in installation, commissioning, and after-sales technical support.
  • Research and implement improvements in design processes and materials.

Essential Criteria To Be Invited To Interview:

  • Design Engineering experience within Heat Exchangers & Pressure Vessels
  • A fundamental understanding of general mechanical principles.
  • Engineering Qualification to HND level or equivalent
  • Full UK residency (due to the sectors the company work within)
