General Facilities Maintenance Assistant

Based in Derby – 3 to 12 Month temporary contract

Monday to Fridays Day Shift

£35,000 to £45,000 pro rata paid on an hourly rate basis

This world-renowned manufacturing company is currently going through a dramatic growth period and following this success a new opportunity is available. The business is now looking for a General Facilities Maintenance Assistant to ensure the upkeep of the building and the assembly and refurbishment of plastic pumps. The day-to-day responsibilities of the General Facilities Maintenance Assistant will involve the following.

  • Perform routine maintenance of building facilities and systems (lighting, HVAC, Fire alarms, etc)
  • Diagnose and repair basic equipment with a focus on diaphragm pumps
  • Strip, rebuild, and test the plastic pumps as required
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
  • Upkeep and running of the building

The General Facilities Maintenance Assistant must possess the following skills and experience.

  • Previous experience in general practical roles ideally facilities
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly pumps
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Mechanical engineering qualification preferred
