The RoleAs an Improvement Practitioner Skills Coach, you’ll teach, coach, and guide learners through their apprenticeship journey, helping them develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they need to succeed. Using a blend of in-person and virtual sessions, you’ll deliver engaging training, monitor progress, and support learners to achieve their goals, including preparation for End-Point Assessment (EPA).

Improvement Practitioners use a blend of Lean and Six Sigma, project and change management principles and tools to identify and lead the delivery of change across organisational functions and processes.

Improvement Practitioners can be found across all sectors and functions including automotive, banking, engineering, food products, IT, property, retail, telecoms, Local and County Councils, NHS, Voluntary / Charity, Utilities, Pharmaceuticals, Insurance, Hospitality etc.

Typically, Practitioners lead smaller projects and/or play a key supporting role in a larger programme tackling issues that may require swift problem solving, or re-occurring challenges that require in-depth analysis and the implementation of a range of effective and sustainable countermeasures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging training aligned with apprenticeship standards
  • Support learners in achieving English, Maths, and ICT functional skills at Level 2.
  • Conduct regular progress reviews and visits to ensure development and success.
  • Collaborate with line managers to provide learners with the guidance they need.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and best practices.
  • Promote safeguarding, British values, and learner well-being throughout the programme.
  • Handle administration tasks and compliance within set deadlines.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in your field + Assessor Award (D32/33 or TAQA) and/OR Teaching Certificate PTLLS/CTLLs/DTLLS/PGCE/Cert Ed
  • Experience: Apprenticeship delivery, assessment, and knowledge of government-funded training ideally.
  • Skills: Strong communication, IT proficiency, and the ability to motivate and guide learners.
  • Mindset: Self-motivated, organized, and passionate about developing others.
