Blue Arrow Derby is proud to be working in partnership with an excellent well-known client who specialise in the retail and manufacturing industry. They are looking to recruit a Catering Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent, based at their visitor attraction site.

About the Catering Manager Role
The postholder will be responsible for all aspects of the catering operations. You will help to develop the site to its full potential, enhancing the profile of the catering and maximising its profitability, through coaching and developing your team to deliver and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) within the required cost budget framework. To model exceptional customer service standards and to be passionate about offering great food with innovative ideas, delivering to a footfall of over 300,00 visitors.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Between the hours of 8am-5pm, including weekends on a rota basis - 1 weekend in, 1 weekend off, 1 Sat in, 1 Sunday In.

Salary: £30,000

What duties will I be doing in the Catering Manager role?

Commercial management

  • Overseeing of 2 catering units
  • Cost management through payroll and margins.
  • Working closely with other teams such as experience team to drive additional revenue drivers such as parties, afternoon teas.
  • Management of suppliers for best costs and product.
  • Administrative tasks including invoices, H&S, including audits etc.
  • Communicate all key performance indicator targets to the store team (assistant manager, supervisor, senior chef, chefs, two bakers and front of house team) and plan and implement actions to achieve targets set.

People

  • Managing a team approx. team of 30
  • Coaching the team to deliver the highest standards of cleanliness
  • Delivery of ambassador customer service training
  • To manage all aspects of staffing including recruitment, staff scheduling, day-to-day management, holiday management, training, appraisals, and performance management.
  • Schedule appropriate staffing levels to cover staff holidays, sickness, trade conditions and sales expectations whilst keeping to agreed hours.
  • Communicate to store team, changes of policy, working practices and relevant business news when appropriate.

H&S

  • Adhere to and follow company Health & Safety policy and procedures ensuring compliance with current legislation.
  • Ensuring maintain 5* EHO rating, and ensure records are maintained i.e. HACCP, allergens.
  • Ensure annual safety regulations such as fire suppression is in place and maintained.
  • Ensure all team members are working in a safe and legal manner by carrying out all relevant checks and training as instructed by the Retail Support team and the Health and Safety Manager.

Customer journey

  • Ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Ability to work the front of house, on the till and being hands on.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels through timely and effective replenishment of stock.
  • Ensure products are sold at the correct price using the correct products codes, and any additional discounts or reductions.

Development

  • Developing new ideas to increase revenue.
  • Delivery off bespoke product for corporate/ head office events.
  • Delivery of catering at events such as summer fete and Christmas market.
  • Creating and supporting in menu development and product development.
  • Understand current and future trends.

What will you bring to the Catering Manager role?

  • Previous Catering management experience is essential
