  • Senior Estimator Overview: Ensure all tender correspondence is recorded and logged, review tender documentation, co-ordinate tender preparation documents, ensure estimates comply with legislation and industry standards, prepare technical and commercial information.
  • Senior Estimator Requirements: Prepare cost budgets and estimates, proposals, meet deadlines, maintain client relationships, manage junior estimators, cost management, report writing, IT literacy, communication skills, health & safety knowledge, concrete preservation and repair knowledge.
  • Senior Estimator Remuneration: Competitive salary up to £65,000.00, company car & mobile phone, annual performance bonus, 25 days annual leave, full-time permanent position with flexible hours and remote working options, EOT acceptance after one year of service, option for a seat on the board of Directors.

Senior Estimator Overview

• Ensure all tender correspondence is recorded and logged

• Review contents of tender documentation and provide feasibility advice

• Co-ordinate the tender preparation documents submitted by other departments, ensuring that they adequately address the client's requirements

• Ensure estimates for work take adequate account of applicable legislation and recognised industry standards on HSQE

• Prepare all necessary information on the technical and commercial aspects for submission

• Identify potential opportunity/risk and evaluate options

• Prepare bills of quantities/schedule of rates for tender applications and 1st principal estimates

• Prepare and submit tender queries/clarifications

• Prepare and submit subcontract enquiries in line with company processes

• Review subcontract tender submissions for compliance and inclusion into the estimate

• Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements.

Senior Estimator Requirements

• Preparing detailed cost budgets and estimates for projects

• Preparing detailed proposals ensuring client guidelines and specifications are adhered to

• Ensure all proposals and estimate deadlines are met

• Maintain relationships with existing clients to maximise customer satisfaction

• Maintain records of all estimation documentation including site assessment and contract terms

• Experience managing Junior estimators

• Cost management

• Report writing

• Knowledge of concrete preservation and repair

• ITliteracy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email

• Verbal and written communication skills

• Health&safety knowledge

• Concrete repairs and geotechnical tender background (desirable)

• Network Rail/Highways England tender background (desirable)

• Concrete repair estimating experience (desirable)

Senior Estimator Remuneration

• Competitive Salary - up to £65,000.00
