Accounts Assistant/Trainee Accountant, Ripon, £competitive plus AAT study support

Due to growth, an established chartered accountancy practice in Ripon is recruiting for an accounts assistant to join their business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is wanting to progress their career in accounting, on the job training and AAT study support can be provided.

To be considered you should have accounting or book-keeping experience and be IT literate.

Duties

  • Supporting experienced members of the accounts team preparing accounts and business tax returns for sole trader, partnerships and limited companies
  • Undertaking preparatory work to record and analyse data provided by clients, including bank reconciliations, data input to spreadsheets
  • Data input to bookkeeping software including Sage, Xero and Quickbooks
  • Review of client accounting records and verification of income and expenses to purchase and sales invoices
  • Assistance with preparation of VAT Returns

Skills required

  • Experience of working in an accountancy position and/or book-keeping
  • Able to work with confidence following instructions
  • Attention to detail and with ability to work accurately and quickly
  • Confident in using Excel
  • Desire to learn and develop
  • Able to use common sense and initiative resolve problems
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and assisting others

This is a full time office based position, however they can also offer 4 days/week.
