Are you an experienced and motivated Finance professional looking for a part-time opportunity within a respected local firm in Ripon as Finance Manager? Our client is a well-established Ripon law firm seeking a dedicated professional to lead and manage their finance operations as Finance Manager. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, with a particular focus around Solicitors' Accounts Rules, while providing essential financial reporting and guidance to their Partners. As a key member of the team, you will not only manage day-to-day financial operations but also help streamline processes and support the firm’s overall financial health. This role offers a unique opportunity to work flexibly while contributing to the ongoing success of a thriving legal practice. Key Responsibilities:
  • Bank Account Oversight: Maintain accurate monitoring of all firm bank accounts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports, offering insights into the firm’s financial performance for review by the Partners.
  • Supervision: Lead and supervise the Legal Cashiers team, ensuring smooth and efficient processing of financial transactions and adherence to best practices.
  • Holiday Cover: Step in to provide essential holiday cover for Legal Cashiers, ensuring there is no disruption in the firm’s financial operations during staff absences.
  • Payments & Authorisations: Set up, review, and authorise payments from the firm’s accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly vetted and approved.
 What We’re Looking For: Essential Experience:
  • Proven Financial Management Expertise: You must have a solid background in finance, with previous experience in a similar role. Experience in the legal sector and familiarity with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules will be highly advantageous but not essential.
  • Reporting & Analysis Skills: Strong ability to produce, analyse, and present financial reports is essential to help the firm make informed decisions.
  • Leadership Skills: You’ll be responsible for overseeing the Legal Cashiers, offering guidance and ensuring the team operates efficiently.
Key Skills:
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy is crucial in this role to ensure that all financial transactions and reports are error-free.
  • Communication Skills: You must be able to communicate complex financial information clearly and confidently, both in writing and verbally.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify potential financial risks or issues and provide solutions that maintain the integrity of the firm’s financial systems.
