Location: Ripon, North Yorkshire
Salary: £85 – £100 per day
Start Date: February 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work at a Client Primary School, to provide tailored support to a student with special educational needs. This role will start after the February Half Term, at a ‘Good’ Primary School in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

1:1 Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

• Provide individualised support to a student with special educational needs on 1:1 basis.
• Assist with implementing personalised learning plans.
• Help the student to develop effective coping mechanisms and promote positive behaviour.
• Be patient and have a kind and caring approach.
• Build strong, trusting bonding with student.
• Provide emotional support during challenging situations.

1:1 Teaching Assistant Requirements:

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, ADHD or SEMH.
• A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
• Experience in education, child development, or mental health support is desirable.
• Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
• Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education. DBS sponsorship is available for this position.
