Hays HR are currently recruiting for a People Advisor to work for a company in North Yorkshire. As a People Specialist, you will champion the employee experience journey and advise on a diverse range of employee relations cases across the group (such as performance management, conflict resolution, absence and ill health, grievance, and disciplinary). This will involve supporting line managers in creating an environment where employee concerns and conflicts are resolved compliantly while fostering effective communication channels to promote a culture of openness, trust, and mutual respect. You will play a crucial role in building the Employee Experience and the HR team and processes.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Group HR Manager to grow and develop the Employee Experience and People strategy that aligns with the business goals and values.
  • Seek opportunities and coach line managers to improve their capabilities with the use of the HR systems and other aspects of ER.
  • Provide expert advice, coaching, and development to managers across the organisation to resolve all ER cases.
  • Own and manage the end-to-end caseload covering the ER cases and support case managers to make sound, unbiased decisions, ensuring colleagues are treated fairly through robust, credible ER advice and support.
  • Collaborating with case managers to ensure that all cases are resolved efficiently, ensuring that organisational risks are mitigated.
  • Accurately recording and maintaining case information, ensuring that all case-associated paperwork is of a professional standard and meets GDPR and data protection regulations.
  • Take proactive measures to support employees' health and well-being.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes and approaches and collaborate with colleagues across HR and the wider organisation to implement these.
  • Constantly promote best practices to the business and keep abreast of changes in employment law in a way that encourages diversity, inclusion, and integrity of the HR team and aligns with the company values.
  • Support with general day-to-day HR admin within a busy HR team.

Experience Required:

  • CIPD qualified to Level 5 or above or equivalent degree and/or experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Employee Relations and/ or Human Resources Advisor (or equivalent) with a background in medium to large-sized organisations.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, HR policies and procedures, best practices, disciplinary and grievance processes, and employee engagement strategies to develop a people-centered employee experience journey.
  • Background in managing ER cases with strong attention to detail, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
  • Has coached case managers to conduct investigations and manage employee relations cases with sensitivity, confidentiality, and impartiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and adapt to the audience and build relationships with employees at all levels of the organisation to support an inclusive culture.
  • Excellent IT skills with experience of using Microsoft packages and other bespoke software.
