Production Team Leader Location: Ripon, North YorkshireSalary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annumHours: Monday – Friday | 37.5 hours per week | Daytime shifts A well-established, market-leading company within their industry is seeking a Production Team Leader to join its growing team. This is a key role in the production area, which plays a vital part in the future success of the business. The position will suit a hands on production leader with experience of people management, process improvement and who is happy to perform day to day production tasks. The Role:Leading a small team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of production processes. Key responsibilities include:
  • Supervising and Organising Workflow – Managing a team of machine operators, ensuring tasks are efficiently allocated and completed on time.
  • Performance and Efficiency – Setting and monitoring team KPIs, providing guidance and support to improve productivity.
  • Operating Cutting Machinery – Overseeing the cutting of textile rolls into bespoke sizes, implementing optimal scheduling, and reporting on output.
  • Problem Solving – Diagnosing and troubleshooting machinery issues to minimise downtime.
  • Daily Briefings – Leading team meetings to discuss tasks, progress, and any potential delays.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identifying opportunities to enhance production efficiency and implementing improvements.
  • Health & Safety – Ensuring all health and safety policies are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Additional Warehouse Duties – Supporting other areas of the warehouse when required.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Strong work ethic and a positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Logical thinker with a proactive mindset.
  • Experience in production and workflow management.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Confident with numbers and data analysis.
  • Hands-on and mechanically minded, with experience troubleshooting machinery.
  • Forklift licence is beneficial but not essential.
