Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Ripon. This role involves working 1:1 with a pupil who has autism, helping to manage their behaviour, and ensuring they are engaged and learning in a positive, structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the pupil with autism on a 1:1 basis within a primary school setting.
  • Implement a personalised alternative timetable to meet the pupil's individual needs.
  • Manage behaviour effectively, using de-escalation techniques and a calm, patient approach.
  • Set clear boundaries while maintaining a positive, supportive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure the pupil's success.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with autism and/or special educational needs is desirable.
