We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced canteen worker, to become part of a close-knit team in Bury St Edmunds. Experience or interest in the field of Kitchen work is preferred for this role. Full training will be provided.

Hours: 12.60 per hour, working 5 days Mon to Fri from 07:00-15:30.

Key responsibilities needed are:

  • Maintain a clean and well-kept canteen area for colleagues
  • Food preparation tasks, such as cooking and serving meals
  • Regularly clean and sanitise all areas of the canteen on a daily and weekly basis
  • Deliver exceptional and welcoming service in a fast-paced setting
  • Maintain the availability of food and beverages during Breakfast and Lunch hours
  • Properly handle and store food, adhering to strict food hygiene protocols.
  • Collaborate with HR on various projects, including the coordination of themed meals and Christmas lunch.
  • Showcasing an independent and resourceful work approach.
  • Training will be provided for this role

What we would like from you:

  • Requires a level 2 certificate in food & hygiene
  • Demonstrates a keen attention to detail, as precision is crucial.
  • indicates strong ability to understand and adhere to instructions, both written and verbal, while also being receptive to guidance from management.
  • Collaborate effectively with a team and also work independently when necessary.
