About the Role

As an EC&I Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering varied and exciting engineering projects. You’ll work alongside Operations Managers and Engineering Managers to co-ordinate and deliver integrated solutions for complex challenges.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting requirements capture and systems engineering approaches for new architectures.
Contributing to projects across the lifecycle, from bid generation to concept and detailed design, installation, and commissioning.
Working on systems integration, testing, and validation of PLC, SCADA, and simulator systems.
Ensuring designs comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Producing high-quality technical reports and simplifying complex problems.
Building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders across multiple locations.
This role is based at one of several locations, including Newcastle, Warrington, Manchester, Gloucester, Bristol, or Knutsford. Flexible working patterns are available to suit both you and the business.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll need a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and a commitment to delivering the highest standards. We’re looking for candidates with:

MEng, MSc, BEng, or BSc (or equivalent) in EC&I or a related discipline, working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (support provided).
Awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures, and components, or engineering principles from other highly regulated industries.
Understanding of relevant guidelines and standards (e.g., IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226, ONR SAPs/TAGs).
Knowledge and experience of the systematic design lifecycle of C&I systems, including specification, design, verification, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
Experience with high-integrity hardware or software-based control systems for industrial equipment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and deliver project updates effectively.
A proactive approach to continuous professional development.
