The opportunity
Given increased project expansion, our client is currently seeking an experienced 3D Modelling Engineer/ BIM Technician to become responsible for the effective development of all modelling and design processes.
Multiple Locations | Warrington/Bristol/Newcastle/Knutsford
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- As a 3D Modelling Engineer, you will be responsible for 3D layout, modelling and design using TEKLA.
- Develop 3D models using TEKLA, detail reinforcement within 3D models using TEKLA, resolve clashes within TEKLA models.
- 3D modelling using AVEVA E3D is also desirable.
- Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data
- Produce design deliverables (assumption notes, technical specifications etc.)
- Technical verifications of civil engineering documents.
- Create and maintain CDM Designers Risk Registers and associated CDM deliverables.
- Work with international SMR developers to pass through the Office of Nuclear Regulation’s Generic Design Assessment process.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
- Civil and/or structural engineering degree (or similar) qualification.
- Working towards chartership or Incorporated Membership with ICE or IStructE.
- Experience of design/detailing/modelling of reinforced concrete and steel structures.
- Design experience in nuclear context (or similar highly regulated context).
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations.
- Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders.
- UK Nuclear Licencing and Generic Design Assessment process experience is desirable.
The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
