The opportunity
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil and Structural Engineer to drive multi-discipline projects within the gas transmission sector.
The role
Open to both contracting and Permanent basis
£60-£65 p/hr Dependent on experience
Perm £65k-£70k Dependent on experience
This role has been deemed Inside of IR35
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- As a member of a team of engineers and designers, you are responsible for the delivery of Civil and Structural (C&S) design packages within multi-discipline engineering, EPCM or EPC projects for the Gas Transmission Major Project Programme
- These projects will range from Concept Design, Execution Design and construction support.
- Assist with temporary works design and support the HSEQ team in delivering on the requirements of CDM 2015.
- The projects will be specific to the Gas Transmission sector predominantly for the UK compressor station infrastructure
- You are responsible for completing the C&S design deliverables within budget and program.
- You are responsible for the quality of the C&S design deliverables
- You will participate in internal and external design reviews
- Make independent decisions on issues, providing technical support within C&S Engineering.
- You are responsible for the checking and approval of discipline design deliverables to company procedure
You will have the following qualifications and experience
- More than 2-3 years of experience as Senior Engineer C&S, in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company, in the Gas Transmission sector
- Good knowledge of C&S engineering and design, but you also have an awareness of the other disciplines (Automation, Mechanical, Piping, EC&I and Process)
- MEng / BEng in Civil and Structural Engineering
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred)
- Because of the variety of projects that we execute, we are looking for both experienced and less experienced candidates.
- Experienced with the production of civil and structural specifications, scopes of work, calculations, drawings and schedules
- Experience with the application of Eurocodes within the UK
- Experience in working with CDM 2015 requirements (PD and PC)
- Result oriented. You are only satisfied after your design is accepted by the client, you delivered top quality and the client is very satisfied with the performance of you and your team
- You have a ‘First time right’ mentality
- Experienced with the main C&S design packages including, AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Staad Pro, Tedds and all Microsoft Office packages.
It's great if you also have the following
- Working knowledge of the Gas Transmission standard and specifications for the C&S disciplines, specifically focused around the compressor stations.
- Knowledge of the T/PM/G/35 Management of Change procedure.
