Are you an experienced Process Engineer looking for your next role? A global leading engineering services company that are at the forefront of innovation in the UK nuclear industry are seeking a Process Engineer to join their team in either Warrington, Bristol or Epsom.
This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in designing new nuclear power stations, advancing fusion technologies, and developing innovative nuclear waste management processes within a highly collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role: Process Engineer
As a Process Engineer in our Nuclear and Power – Systems Design team, you will:
- Deliver complex, high-impact projects, supporting clients in-house or via secondments.
- Work across diverse sectors, including Nuclear New Build, Science and Industry, Decommissioning, Net Zero initiatives, and Defence.
- Provide technical leadership on process safety challenges throughout all project stages, from feasibility to commissioning.
- Ensure that designs meet safety requirements, minimizing risks and adhering to legislative standards.
- Contribute to the development of proposals and bids for future projects.
- You will collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to tackle unique challenges in regulated environments, helping to drive the success of transformative energy projects.
Key Responsibilities: Process Engineer
- Lead and facilitate hazard analysis workshops (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, Bowtie Analysis).
- Conduct consequence analysis for hazards such as fire, toxic exposure, and explosion.
- Perform DSEAR risk assessments and ensure compliance with UK legislation and industry best practices.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, including COMAH, DSEAR, PE(S)R, and ATEX, as well as applicable codes and standards.
- Promote safety leadership, improve procedural adherence, and support team development through mentorship and collaboration.
Key Requirements: Process Engineer
- Proven experience and expertise in leading and supervising process safety safety-related activities, including hazard analysis, risk assessment, and inherent safety evaluation.
- Strong understanding of UK regulations and codes of practice related to major hazards.
- A proactive approach to safety leadership, process improvement, and team development.
- A dynamic mindset, ready to contribute to projects across varied disciplines and industries.
