Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading a team of mechanical technicians to ensure the plant is maintained to the highest standard to ensure maximum plant availability
- Scheduling, planning and optimising all mechanical maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Supervising and directing contractors.
- Working closely with the operations department to assess and review plant performance shortfalls and how these can be rectified
- Assisting in the setting up and development of the sites Computerised Maintenance Management System
- Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in line with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Ideally a HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineering
- A formal health and safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader role would suit someone who has:
- Proven supervisory / management experience in a heavy process engineering environment such as Power Generation, COMAH sites, Paper Mills, Pharmaceutical sites, FMCG, etc
- Experience in maintaining and working on a variety of mechanical equipment including boilers, turbines, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as PSSR
