We are seeking a Transport Administrative Assistant for our client based in Robertsbridge (East Sussex). Hours: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Days: Monday to Friday Pay: £13 per hourContract: Temporary

As Transport Administrative Assistant you will play a vital role in supporting the operations of a very busy and fast paces Transport Office. Your primary responsibilities revolve around managing and coordinating tasks to ensure the smooth flow of transportation processes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Briefing drivers, conducting debriefs, and monitoring their progress during shifts.
  • Checking, organising, and maintaining important transport documents, such as Proof of Delivery (POD) records.
  • Managing call-outs for vehicle defects, breakdowns, or repairs, and tracking issues using electronic systems.
  • Assisting in planning drivers' schedules or handling compliance tasks, like managing infringements in tachograph systems.
  • Facilitating permit-to-work procedures for contractors performing vehicle repairs or site maintenance.
About You:
  • Strong communication skills: effectively engaging with drivers, colleagues, and contractors, both in-person and via phone or email.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Problem-solving and being able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Familiarity with electronic trackers, transport management systems, or tools like Tachomaster is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Transport/Logistics is preferred but not essential.
  • Adaptability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as the role evolves or as the business needs.
  • Be a team player, while taking ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Having your own vehicle is essential, as our client is not accessible by public transport.
