My client is looking to recruit a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing team.

Job description

We are looking to recruit a Semi-Senior Accountant to join our clients expanding practice. This role will cover a range of responsibilities in a variety of different areas of bookkeeping, accounts preparation and tax. The position is a full time role.

Your role will cover:

  • Bookkeeping via a variety of digital systems.
  • Preparation, calculation and submission of VAT returns to HMRC.
  • Preparation of management accounts.
  • Preparation, calculation and submission of Self-Assessment Returns to HMRC.
  • Preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Preparation, calculation and submission of Corporation Tax Returns to HMRC.
  • Liaising with clients.
  • Operating with a regular portfolio of clients.

Qualifications and skills:

  • A good set of IT skills, with experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office products, accounts, tax and bookkeeping software, preferably with good experience of Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent and IRIS /Digita.
  • Good communication skills, able to confidently liaise with clients by telephone, e-mail and face to face.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Able to work as both individually and within a team.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience within public practice.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with AAT or above qualifications.
