Sprinkler Design Engineer Rochdale

Role Overview

As a Sprinkler Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the full design process of commercial sprinkler systems for both refurbishment and new build projects. Your role will involve ensuring that all designs meet the required industry standards and regulations, particularly BS EN 12845. You will be working on a variety of sites, including warehouses, hospitals, data centers, and retail fit-outs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Create detailed designs for commercial sprinkler systems using AutoCAD and, ideally, Revit.
  • Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with BS EN 12845 and BS 9251 regulations.
  • Project Involvement: Work on both refurbishment and new build projects, managing the design process from initial concept through to completion.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver successful outcomes on all projects.
  • Documentation: Produce accurate design documentation, drawings, and reports as required.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Sprinkler Design Engineer or Draughtsman.
  • Qualifications: A basic sprinkler design course qualification is essential; an LPCB competency course would be highly advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit is beneficial.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of sprinkler regulations, particularly BS EN 12845 and BS 9251.
  • Location: Must be based within a commutable distance to Rochdale and willing to attend the office at least two days a week.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and liaise with clients.
