Our client is a rapidly expanding importer of products including seasonal, pet and homewares, who now have an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, organised and ambitious candidate to join their team in Rochdale.

Purpose of the role:

The primary purpose of this office-based role will be to assist the sales team with all administrative duties. You will work along-side team members and have your own specific tasks and responsibilities but will also provide day to day sales administration support to members of the mobile sales management team. The job responsibilities will be varied and interesting.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • General sales admin including order taking and processing and filing.
  • Order management and new line form completions.
  • Provision of quotations via telephone and email.
  • Liaising with both existing and potential customers dealing with quotes, enquiries, ensuring the customer's needs are continually exceeded.
  • General account housekeeping ensuring data accurate and up-to-date.
  • Coordination of information from all departments involved in the sales process.
  • Willingness to learn the business bespoke computer system.
  • Provide cover and support in the showroom as and when necessary.
  • Attend Trade Shows when necessary- x 1 per year and involves travel & overnight stays.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience:

  • Experience of working in an office environment, not necessarily sales, is essential.
  • Computer literate with proficient knowledge of excel.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are key to this role as there will be a requirement to liaise with customers on the telephone.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy at all times.
  • Ability to prioritise work efficiently and work to agreed timescales in an organised manner.
  • A self-starter that enjoys operating at a fast pace and enjoys working under pressure.
  • Important to have a can-do attitude and a drive to consistently improve ways of working - if there is a better way, find it and implement it.
  • Comfortable working off own initiative with the ability to manage and develop own workload.
