Overview:Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a school in Middleton. This role involves providing tailored support to children with ADHD, autism, and challenging behaviour, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to SEN students, adapting activities to engage them in learning and ensure progress.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies, supporting emotional regulation and positive social interaction.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials, ensuring full participation of all students.
  • Supervise students during outdoor activities and breaks, ensuring safety and inclusion.
  • Track student progress, maintaining records and liaising with teachers and SENCO.
  • Collaborate with staff to provide holistic support and attend team meetings.
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and welfare of all students.

Contract Details:

  • Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Contract Type: Long-Term Temporary
  • Full-Time: Yes, 8:30AM - 4:00 PM
  • Contract Duration: Until July 2025 (with potential for extension)

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualifications: Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience supporting children with SEN in a UK school setting.
  • Training: Recent safeguarding training is desirable; additional training will be provided.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Two professional childcare references
