The Role:

Our client is looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer with expertise in power electronics to support the continued growth of their engineering division. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of bespoke electrical power and control systems, with a particular focus on aerospace and defence applications.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with the design team to provide engineering solutions that meet both internal and customer specifications, focusing on reliability, safety, and performance. You will also assist in preparing technical assessments and responses to bids, helping to secure future development contracts.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of power conversion and management products.
  • Review and interpret customer specifications, proposing feasible solutions.
  • Identify and integrate new technologies to improve product performance.
  • Ensure products meet electrical requirements, including EMI compliance.
  • Develop and maintain simulation models of electrical power converters.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including electrical schematics.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers for component procurement.
  • Contribute to safety analyses such as FMEA/FMECA and perform design assurance testing.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in power converter design and management.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture tools (Altium preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace and military PCB design and testing.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and practices.

Desirable:

  • Experience in aerospace Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
  • Knowledge of DO-254, DO-160, and Mil-STD standards.
  • Understanding of FPGA programming and safety-critical software.
