Our large successful independently owned multi-site Engineering / Manufacturing client based in Rochdale, requires an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer  to join their team on a permanent basis.

Established for over 40-years, the company manufactures niche products at Tier 1 level, supplying some of the world's most well-known brands across a broad range of sectors including automotive and construction equipment.

Salary – £40,000+ per annum + Pension / Life assurance / 33 Days Holiday (DOE)

Working 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 1.00pm Friday, must be flexible on the working hours.

Main Responsibilities:

Work alongside the Senior Projects Engineer (SPE) and support the Design & Commercial Engineer (DCE) on project objectives (new, development of existing products and the introduction of new processes).

Liaise with both Production and Quality Departments to drive improvements in process for existing customer products in an agreed time scale.

Prepare reports for the New Product Implementation (NPI) team in respect of project status and collate relevant information.

Ensure strict control of all relevant project documentation.

Manage samples process both internally and to customers ensuring accurate documentation is available on our system to support.

Acquire product and process knowledge to allow the setup of relevant BOMs and Routing knowledge on the ERP system.

Work with Technical Sales team in the provision of costs / prices on both existing products and new projects.

Assist in the evaluation of quoted prices for customer products vs actual costs in Production.

The above duties are neither exhaustive nor exclusive and the role may alter in line with business / operational needs.

Education & Experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment essential

Knowledge of Plastics and Moulding / Added Value highly advantageous.

Experience of working with manufacturing ERP systems essential.

Experience in process improvement and/or continuous improvement essential.

Experience of working to and meeting ISO 9001 (2015) requirements or equivalent advantageous.

Educated to Degree / HND level in an Engineering subject advantageous.

 

Skills

Excellent planning and organisational skills.

Ability to work to deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written skills

Proficient in all associated Microsoft packages.

Able to demonstrate solid IT experience with ability to adapt.

Ability to work on own initiative and adapt to solutions.
