We are recruiting on behalf of a leading, independently owned engineering and manufacturing company with multiple sites across the UK. With over 40 years of industry success, this company supplies Tier 1 niche products to some of the world’s most well-known brands across industries including automotive and construction equipment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to join a growing company that values innovation and continuous improvement. The successful Manufacturing Process Engineer will play a key role in optimising manufacturing processes, improving product quality, and supporting new product development.

Manufacturing Process Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Senior Projects Engineer and support the Design & Commercial Engineer on new and existing product development.
  • Liaise with Production and Quality teams to implement process improvements within agreed timeframes.
  • Prepare New Product Implementation (NPI) reports, ensuring accurate project status updates.
  • Maintain strict control over project documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Manage the sample process, ensuring accurate documentation is available within the company’s ERP system.
  • Develop in-depth product and process knowledge, setting up Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routing within the ERP system.
  • Assist the Technical Sales team with costing and pricing for both existing and new products.
  • Evaluate quoted vs actual production costs to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings.

Required Manufacturing Process Engineer Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (essential).
  • Experience in plastics, moulding, and added-value processes (highly advantageous).
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing ERP systems (essential).
  • Background in process improvement and continuous improvement (essential).
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 (2015) or equivalent standards (advantageous).
  • HND/Degree in Engineering or a related field (desirable).

Manufacturing Process Engineer Key Skills

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to business needs.

Salary & Benefits

Working Hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Flexibility required)
