Mechanical Design Engineer - 40,000 - Heywood, North Manchester

Plus various locations within the UK and Overseas as required

You will report to the Design manager / Director and collaborate with design/sales and projects, shop/assembly teams on design projects. You will be passionate about innovation and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

Produce and design detailed drawings and documentation

  • Use specialised software to create models and drawings of products
  • Research new materials and methods of development
  • Organise and maintain existing engineering records
  • Construct prototypes and confirm designs with design/sales team
  • Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes
  • Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards
  • Attend / organise project meetings at both office and customers sites

Experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor, Autocad and Vault Workgroup

Extensive experience of metal fabrication processes, experience within the Food manufacturing industry is very beneficial and experience with bulk handling systems
