About the Role:
We are currently working with a leading engineering company that specialises in providing innovative machinery and capital equipment. Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Design Engineer to join their team in Rochdale. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting projects within a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical design background, with at least 5 years of experience, and a proactive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems, with a focus on sheet metal, weldments, and bolted assemblies.
• Create and manage detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks or Inventor. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are both feasible and manufacturable.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices within the engineering team.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering design, focusing on sheet metal, weldments, and bolted assemblies.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM for design and documentation.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in machinery or capital equipment design.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Experience with automated systems and machinery design.
