Job Title: Street Service Operative

Salary: Hourly rate from £12.59
As a Street Service Operative, you will be responsible for the following:
- General soft and hard landscape projects, including levelling, paving, and brick laying.
- Site preparation, measuring, and setting out based on plans and design details.
- Assembly of pre-fabricated construction items, ensuring accurate installation.
- Litter removal using both manual and mechanical methods, including emptying bins.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of grass plots through mowing and strimming.
- Manual weeding of flower and shrub beds as directed.
- Acting as an environmental steward, identifying and reporting issues within the street scene environment.
- Adhering to corporate and service policies and reporting any incidents.
- Assisting the public in a courteous and helpful manner and acting as a steward for events.
- Participating in snow clearing and salting during inclement weather.
- Participating in in-service training and continuous professional development.
Essential (Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience):
- Valid UK driving licence
- Experience in soft and hard landscape projects
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Knowledge of operating ride-on mowers and other specialist vehicles
- Experience using machinery, tools, and equipment related to the role
Desirable (Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience):
- Experience in horticultural operations, including turf management, planting, and maintenance of bedding displays
- Knowledge of tree and shrub care, including pruning and aftercare
- Familiarity with the use and application of pesticides
- Previous experience in snow clearing and salting
