**Job Description: Purchasing Assistant - Manufacturing**

Bamford Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Purchasing Assistant on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturer in Rochdale. This is a temp-to-perm role with an immediate start for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of £11.75-£12.70, depending on experience, and work Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Fridays 8am-2pm.

Our client requires candidates with previous purchasing experience in order to be considered for this role.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate prices with suppliers
  • Track orders and expected delivery dates
  • Maintain and update stock system to minimise waste
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues to manage stock and supply
  • Manage replenishment orders
  • Track stock levels for all products, from raw materials to consumable goods
  • Complete any required administrative tasks as directed by the Office Manager

Candidate Profile:

  • Excellent understanding of supply chain procedures
  • 2-3 years' previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities
