We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate individual to strengthen our Business Development team as a Business Development Manager. Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and based in Rochdale, you will support the Pre-Construction, Bid and Marketing Teams in securing business for all three areas of Casey.

The Business Development Manager will be a highly competent individual, with the ability to identify and qualify leads, as well as building and managing relationships that will provide the Group with a robust pipeline of winnable business opportunities. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to work collaboratively understanding the needs and priorities of various stakeholders across key areas of the Group. You will be comfortable in supporting organising and attending B2B appointments and attending various networking and business events often outside of normal working hours.

You will have a good standard of Maths and English. A background in construction, civils or engineering would be a distinct advantage.You will be adept at using the full suite of Microsoft office and experience of using databases/CRM management and design software is desirable.

Can you, do it?

Key Responsibilities:

Organise and attend business to business appointments

Research, identify, generate and qualify new potential leads in line with business capabilities

Position Casey pre-ITT to maximise win potential

Use relationships to influence procurement routes to ensure access to tenders

Create visibility of target customer opportunities

Review and analyze relationships regarding returns on investment

Ensure relationships are aligned and feeding the business relevant opportunities

Gather knowledge contacts re project drivers that can be used in bids

Carry out Peer Reviews of bid documents

Attend B2B meetings presenting Casey information via discussion or formal presentations

Work with Bid and Estimating teams to keep pipeline data current and cleansed

Identify frameworks that would offer appropriate opportunities

Act as a conduit between the client and Casey to gain feedback

Be involved with Framework Management and Casey representation

Feed customer intelligence into Key Account Plans, bid and pipeline meetings

Manage pipeline information and activity pre-tender arrival

Feed data into operational and other management reports

Work with marketing to devise targeted customers and consultant comms

Contribute to Casey event management and invite coordination

Feed into market intelligence report throughout the year

Follow up meeting/discussions with EOIs bespoke capability information

Devise, lead and manage targeted meals/events

Attend events, networking, dinners, breakfast, CPD sessions (6-8 per month)

Use software to target public tenders and carry out client research

Attend pre-con tender meetings depending on opportunity knowledge

Feed into operational reports and contribute to business planning process

Carry out customer satisfaction reviews when needed

Develop a social media presence, promoting Casey

Is this You?

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships youll have:

  • Demonstrable experience of B2B sales

Be able to engage in a persuasive yet friendly manner both internally and externally

  • Ability to work independently, and as part of team and collaborate effective with wider teams associated with the bid process life cycle

Build collaborative working relationships with clients and wider teams across the bid process life cycle

  • Ability to cold call, build rapports and set up appointments

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce dynamic documents and emails

  • Proven track record in managing multiple tasks and able to prioitise own workload
  • Ability to prioritise in line for objectives

Strong proficiency in Microsoft skills, PowerPoint and Word and presentation skills

  • Experience of developing a presence and strong brand across various social media platforms
  • A full Driving license and own, independent transport
  • Confident carrying out phone work, making enquiries and asking questions
  • Desire to learn
  • Have an Inquisitive mindset, enthusiastic and motivated self-starter
  • Good attention to detail, desire to learn and able to research effectively
  • Flexibility with regards to travel and requirements of the role
