What skills and experience we are looking for:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Class Teacher to join Whitehall Academy School.

Whitehall Academy School caters for the needs of an increasingly diverse pupil populationwith a wide range of educational difficulties, ranging from moderate, severe, and complex needs. Some pupils also present with communication, physical, sensory, behavioural, or autistic difficulties requiring additional adult support and specialist intervention.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience teaching pupils with physical learning and sensory difficulties and will be able to work collaboratively with teaching Assistant staff to plan and deliver high-quality educational provision for our young people.
  • A sound understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of key performance indicators and the ability to use them to monitor progress.
  • Awareness of the needs of pupils with EAL.
  • An understanding of how a pupil’s learningis affected by their intellectual,emotional,and
  • social development, and the stages of child development.
  • All applicants must hold the QTS qualification.
