Our client

Morgan Hunt is working with the supported housing arm of a large Housing Association in Rochdale. We are looking to recruit a Female Housing Support Worker on a temporary contract. Our client provides accommodation and day support services to people who are homeless or in housing need. It offers a safe environment where people can develop their skills and independence to empower change.

This role will be based across both their hub and a female supported housing accommodation service.

The role

  • Supporting vulnerable women accessing the hub for womens only services. This could be women who have multiple and complex needs, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, rough sleepers, and those who are socially isolated. Everyone being supported has experienced significant trauma in their life.
  • A friendly face within the hub serving tea and coffee and talking to people in need.
  • Supporting women to complete forms and apply for benefits or housing.
  • Providing one-to-one assessment to help identify support needs.
  • Providing wellbeing and health activities to promote wellbeing.
  • Providing links to other services within the community that can support vulnerable people.
  • Multi agency working with organisations such as the probation service, local authority and drug and alcohol organisations.
  • Providing housing related support to people living within the accommodation service to enable them to move into long term stable accommodation and sustain their tenancy.

The candidate

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people, ideally working specifically with vulnerable women.
  • An understanding of the impact of trauma and using a trauma informed approach to support women.
  • Experience of liaising with other organisations and multi-agency working to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable people
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and how to deal with safeguarding issues.
  • A proactive, confident personality who can easily fit into an established team dynamic
  • An Enhanced Adult and Child DBS on the update service
