  • The position offers a basic workweek of 39 hours plus overtime, with an attractive financial package including a company pension contribution up to 10% and an annual bonus.
  • Candidates must have a full driving license and be willing to spend time in Rochester, Kent for training, as well as travel to various remote sites.

Our client is seeking experienced field based Electrical Project Engineer X2 – please be aware the role requires long commutes and working away from home Monday to Friday most weeks.  Travel is UK wide and sometimes abroad – excellent OT and overall financial package offered.

Hours:             39 hours basic week + OT includes travel time

Location:         Rochester, Kent – initial period of employment c3 months

This Electrical Project Engineer role is open to any candidate based in the UK – candidates must be willing to spend time at Rochester in Kent (and other locations) for training.  Candidates must also be willing and have the ability to frequently travel excessive distances to various remote sites across UK, Including onshore and offshore works.

As part of our team, the Electrical Project Engineer undertakes installation and commissioning of high accuracy energy metering systems.

Electrical Project Engineer – skills and experience:

  • Electrical engineering or systems engineering technical background required OR a BSc/HND in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience of electrical instrumentation and control systems (focus on energy metering).
  • Good knowledge of power industry, high voltage transmission and distribution networks.
  • Experience in ethernet connections, programming of switches & routers, for example: SCADA.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as Modbus, MQTT, IEC61850, DNP3, DLMS.
  • Ability to problem-solve and an engineering curiosity mindset.
  • Excellent time and task management skills
  • Good computer skills including MS Office suite and project planning software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full driving licence - ESSENTIAL
  • Relevant training and qualifications (BS 7671 17th/18th Edition Regulations, Full GWO, HUET, Medical and fitness including Chester step) advantageous.
  • Knowledge and experience of precision high accuracy metering OR CT metering is advantageous (CoP1, CoP2).
