We are seeking a Finance Manager to join a growing construction company based in Medway. This is an urgent position, ideal for a professional who is available at short notice and has prior experience in the construction industry. The role is a 6-month fixed-term contract with a competitive salary of £40,000 per annum.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee the financial operations and financial planning of the company.
  • Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.
  • Develop financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Manage and lead the budgeting process.
  • Work with senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
  • Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g., auditors, solicitors, bankers, and statutory organisations.
  • Produce accurate financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager within the construction industry.
  • Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management software.
  • Ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
  • Must be available to start at short notice.
