As an Administration Assistant for Payroll/HR, you will support the day-to-day operations of our HR and payroll departments. This newly defined position will help manage the workloads of two busy departments, ensuring tasks are completed methodically and promptly. Your role will involve maintaining the HR database, supporting recruitment, processing payroll, and handling various administrative tasks.

The ideal Administration Assistant for Payroll/HR will have a strong administrative background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Experience with SAGE payroll or HR software is a plus, but full training will be provided. This is a fantastic opportunity to obtain formal qualifications in both Payroll and HR while working in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the HR Database including employee lifecycle administration and compliance checks.
  • Support with recruitment processes.
  • Process starters/leavers and organize exit interviews.
  • Collate HR reports as directed.
  • Handle ad hoc enquiries from managers and staff effectively and efficiently.
  • Support in a note-taking capacity during formal employee relations meetings.
  • Maintain employee confidence and ensure personal details remain confidential.
  • Assist with loading new employee information onto the payroll program.
  • Help process weekly and monthly payrolls, including pension processing and reporting to HMRC.
  • Ensure discretion and attention to detail while working to tight deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • GCSE English and Maths - Grade 5 or above.
  • BrightHR Software – preferable but not essential.
  • SAGE Payroll - preferable but not essential.
  • Strong numerical aptitude - essential.
  • Highly organised.
