assurance side of the business. He/she supervises and coordinates work systems to

ensure that the products or services of the company meet the highest quality

standards and that the working conditions of the company are favourable and safe.


Day to Day operations

To lead, develop, and maintain Guardian Builders LTD SHEQ management

systems in written format and to audit said systems to ensure continued compliance with legislative requirements. recording and through face to face contact,

communication and team briefing.

To support Guardian Builders LTD senior management team in delivering Site SHEQ objectives.


Principal responsibilities

Determines the strategic direction and work priorities (in conjunction with line management) for the continuous improvement of Guardian Builders SHEQ management systems.

Advises line management and assists with the implementation of new or existing SHEQ-related legislation, rules, and Company standards to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections of Company and contractors sites.

To complete prevention inspections on a regular basis and ensure records maintained of same.

To investigate accidents, incidents, non-conformances, and external/internal complaints.

To develop a monthly SHEQ Communication Strategy for all sites and levels of staff, to include written information, toolbox talks and management briefs.

Full completion of duties of CDM Coordinator as required by the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015

Full responsibility for preparations for annual SHEQ audits

Liaising with Senior Management Team to initiate and coordinate a training plan for employees to meet the needs of the business based on a GAP analysis of the companys training matrix

To assist in retaining all current SHEQ accreditations and work towards the attainment of new accreditations.

Advises line management on Site of health, safety, quality, and environmental matters and manages this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day to day processes and operations.

Provides support and expertise to line management in incident investigation and reporting (including dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases).

Facilitates all forms of risk assessment e.g. general, manual handling, COSHH, fire prevention and site-specific risk assessments

Conducts occupational health and safety related assessments e.g. noise, HAVS, exposure to chemical substances and makes associated recommendations.

Responsible for the Occupational health of employees, completing HAVS and noise risk assessments. Drafting procedures to distribute to the workforce regarding Noise and HAVS. Monitoring any exposure up to the legislative limits and arranging occupational health surveillance for employees where required.

Responsible for the selection and approval of sub-contractors, will create and maintain approved suppliers register ensuring that all suppliers of both goods and services meet the standards of our own SHEQ management system and legislative requirements.

Produces and coordinates the yearly SHEQ action plan.

Assists with tender/submission documentation.


Key interfaces

All Site personnel, including Directors, Senior Management, front line supervisors staff and contractors, Internal/external auditors and regulatory bodies.
