PMLD Teaching Assistant Needed in Medway
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and motivated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join our committed team in Medway. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), helping them thrive in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Position Details:
Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant
Sector: Education and Training
Location: Medway
Contract: Full-Time
Daily Rate: £95 - £105 per day
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for students with PMLD.
- Collaborate with teachers and professionals to design and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Assist students with personal care, mobility, and feeding, ensuring their safety and dignity.
- Foster a nurturing learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Work closely with the SEN team to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies as necessary.
- Utilise specialised equipment to create engaging and accessible learning experiences.
- Engage with parents, carers, and external professionals to support the holistic development of each student.
Requirements:
- Previous experience with PMLD students in an educational setting.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs.
- Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication methods is highly desirable.
- Understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding policies.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEN diploma).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
