Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Rochester, Kent
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
Shifts: 4 on 4 off rotating (07:00-19:00, 12:00-24:00; may vary during peak periods)
Join a family-owned business that has been established for 80+ years. We are seeking a dynamic and diligent electrically biased Multi-Skilled Engineer to enhance the Engineering team. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal functioning of equipment and machinery, facilitating both routine and preventative maintenance to support the smooth operation of our facilities.
Day-to-day of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer role:
- Maintain machines and equipment to the highest standards through effective maintenance.
- Quickly respond to faults and breakdowns using fault-finding techniques, ensuring clear communication with affected parties and efficient resolution.
- Reduce downtime and its cost impact by maintaining equipment in good repair and implementing a systematic planned maintenance programme.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule downtime for necessary service, modification, or repairs.
- Manage a stock of critical spare parts and order parts needed for service and repair work.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Required Skills & Qualifications of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
- Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Electrical apprenticeship (City & Guilds), HNC, ONC, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition or similar qualifications.
- Strong electrical skills complemented by mechanical abilities.
- Commitment to health and safety guidelines.
- Proactive, improvement-driven approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with CMMS
- PLC fault finding and diagnostics experience.
