Based in Grain, near Rochester, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment in their manufacturing plant. You will also play a key role in implementing preventative maintenance procedures to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production machinery, including reinforcing steel manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate necessary repairs in a timely manner.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment runs at optimal performance levels.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment to meet operational requirements and safety standards.
  • Liaise with production teams to minimise downtime and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Propose improvements to machinery and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably within the steel or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Experience in conducting preventative maintenance and troubleshooting machinery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be advantageous.
