We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Manager to join our client on a full-time permanent basis at their site in Rochester. Leading the Compliance team, you'll play a fundamental role in supporting the UK in meeting our obligations with regards to Compliance Management, developing effective Quality Management and Food Safety Systems to drive the company, Customer and Third-Party compliance and continuous improvement across the business. The main goal is to ensure the product is compliant with regulations and specifications before reaching the client's customers. In addition to this, the Compliance Manager will be managing Quality Assurance and NPD with support which will include managing the QA Supervisor.


Responsibilities:

* Provide governance and lead proactive continuous improvement of quality systems (and all related documentation), food safety, food defence and relevant QS/FS training programmes to meet the client's customer and third-party audit standards.

* Implement Quality and Food Safety policies set by business and customers at the sites and provide support for the development and continuous improvement of these policies.

* Responsible for the management of the internal audit programmes and pro-actively lead continuous improvements where necessary. Publish monthly audit results, KPIs and trending data conducting reviews with the sites' leadership teams.

* Responsible for the management of all technical third party and customer audit programmes.

* Manage corrective action programmes to ensure appropriate handling, response and resolution of internal and external audits. Identify and implement continuous improvement to the programs to prevent recurrence of the issues.

* Responsible for the management of complaints including technical support for the investigation and implementation of appropriate corrective actions, maintenance of customer and corporate portals, publish monthly KPIs and trend data.

* Manage relevant quality and food safety training programmes for the site ensuring that all operational staff receive adequate training and achieve the minimum agreed understanding and how it applies to their role.

* Provide QS/FS governance and support to further enhance the food safety and quality culture at the site.

* Deputise as appropriate for the Technical Manager during absence / holidays, including leading incident / Crisis management if required.

* Lead communications interdepartmentally to understand and ensure company and customer expectations are met.

* Any other reasonable management requests to meet the needs of the business.

About you

* Experienced on Food Safety/Quality Systems Management or Auditing.

* Practical knowledge of industry audit standard (e.g., BRC, AIB etc.)

* Leading and managing Food Safety and Quality System programmes in compliance with food industry standards and Customer/Third-party audit requirements.

* Solid experience working within the Food industry at management level.

* Good training skills.

* Good managerial skills.
