Our established M&E services installer is seeking a Materials Buyer. The role will suit candidates with experience of purchasing within manufacturing/engineering.

The ideal Materials Buyer will have M&E industry experience/knowledge - Mechanical and Electrical e.g. installation, service, sales, trade counter, plumbing, heating etc

Salary: 40,000 pa AAE

Location: Rochester

Hours: 7.30am to 4.30pm or 8am to 5pm

1 hour lunch break

Benefits: 21 days leave + BH

Materials Buyer skills/experience:

  • Good solid education - English, Math & IT.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ideally previous experience in a procurement.
  • Understanding of market research, data analysis, and purchasing principles.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate.
  • Ability to work autonomously, using own initiative.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task and time-management skills.
  • The ability to build effective collaborative working relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Material Buyer main responsibilities

  • Develop long term supply relationships with key vendors employing Supply Chain Management techniques to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of all materials.
  • Processing purchase order acknowledgements and advise relevant personnel when problems arise.
  • Run various reports to define weekly exceptions i.e. late order and open order reports.
  • Implement Vendor Master Data-cleanse.
